The focus has officially shifted from team glory to individual ambition at the All Africa Individual Championships 2026, currently taking place at the Royal Aria Gymnasium in Gaborone.

The tournament, which started on Friday 13 February, opened with a packed schedule across four courts, featuring intense matches from the early rounds of men’s singles, women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

The continental stage belonged to champions once again in Gaborone, Botswana, as South Africa and Algeria successfully defended their African team titles in spectacular fashion, confirming their dominance while securing qualification to the prestigious world team championships scheduled for April in Denmark.

With continental pride and global qualification on the line, both finals delivered intensity, tactical battles, and moments of brilliance that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

BCA is pleased to announce the opening of the application process for the 5th Edition of the African Shuttle Time Award (ASTA).

Introduced in 2022, ASTA aims to reward the best implementation of the Shuttle Time programme in Africa for a given year. This initiative serves to promote Shuttle Time programme, recognize excellence, and encourage Member Associations to develop the programme sustainably.

I was born in Guinea, in a sub-prefecture called Fataco, in the Labé region of Middle Guinea. I come from a conservative Muslim polygamous family. I completed my Quranic, primary, and secondary education, during which I practiced physical education and played a bit of football. Later, I moved to the capital to continue my studies and graduated from the National School of Physical Education and Sports.
